Baby on Board

You know those cars with them bumper stickers that says "Baby on board"? I was wondering why people put that. Because honestly to me, you have a baby on board or not also makes no difference right, everyone should still drive carefully regardless if a baby is or is not on board. Does it mean that just because you have that sticker that means that you're out of danger from being hit or your own bad driving? Nope, don't think so. And i don't know if it's just a few cars that i happen to notice, but cars with that stickers don't seem to drive that well, maybe because they're rushing to get their kid to the nursery? Defeats the whole purpose really, again, it's not a license to speed or drive recklessly.

Video features

I find that people can find really absured things on youtube, but no, that's not what i'm going to show, what i'm going to do is just put a few videos that i have been watching.

Period Drama Dance
I like how the person used this song with the video. It really does fit in as the upper class people had all these dances and balls to socialise and make connections as it was the practise of that time. It was all very formal and people had the intention of gaining connections through these events. Quite a sad thing because some were so obsessed about titles, so it's really "All the right friends in all the right places, all the right moves in all the right places" and "everybody knows where we're going" yeah, up the social ladder. A note i'll have to make is that i do recognise where some of these clips come from and most of the dancing scenes are actually where the lovers keep on staring at each other as they dance and you know they want to be together but they just don't want to admit it. I was just looking at it from the point of view of the song and the clips.

Sticky Candy
This is a candy shop in singapore, there's one in Malaysia in 1Utama, someone want to teman me there? Anyway, i was reading this blog that was doing an advertisement for them and i was so intriged with how they could make names and pictures in the tiny candy pieces!! seriously i was amazed and studied how they did it. I want some too! but i think you need a minimum of 4KG for a custom batch order. And the commentator is so emotionless its sad because she could at least be more enthusiastic about the candy to go along with music!

Letters to God
the possibility of finding this movie in Malaysia is so slim the slimming companies should use it as a promo, ok, i know it's lame and makes no sense, blame the influences i'm under. I wanna watch it! It's so touching and inspirational, i can't say much about it as i have not watched the movie yet, probably have to go look for the torrent. Come on, you have to admire kids who can act as a victim of cancer, all the emotions and feelings that they have to portray. Thumbs up for kids!

National Manga Competition 2010

Fancy Your Manga Story on Animax One Day? Here’s Your Chance!

The National Manga Competition is back for the second year!

The National Manga Competition will begin from 30th June 2010 to 30th November 2010 and features 3 categories; Amatuers (18 years onwards); Secondary (13- 17 years of age); and Primary (7-12 years of age). Cash and prizes worth RM 15,000 will be up for grabs.

Notice that the minimum age is 7? So it just shows that everyone out there has the potential to do it! Here's a little fact for you;

The traditional Manga market was worth a whooping 400 billion yen in 2007 for the Japan economy and has been termed as a soft power in the nation’s recovery plan in 2009. This soft power will grow through transfer of knowledge and expertise with other countries in the Asian region who have shown interest like Malaysia.

“We are a booming economy and as far as I have realised, the Manga industry has nothing but grown over the years. The art and its artists are no longer confined to Japan and like our Canon brand, Manga and Anime has become a global icon for the creative world.

Canon is sponsoring cash and RM 12,000 worth of Wedoo (formerly known as Canonfoto) products to be given away as prizes. 'The Wedoo is our local initiative in the photo book field. It is a great tool for the Manga artists to compile and showcase their works in a professional presentation. The winners will receive a printed and bound copy of their work entered for the competition,'

Organizers of the competition are Liquid Media, the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC),

Canon Marketing Malaysia and Novotel KLCC on board as a sponsor, Animax as the Official TV & Online Partner, Comic Fiesta as the event partner and is further endorsed by the Education Ministry of Malaysia.
