Taken from the book "When a woman meets Jesus"
"Several years ago, a friend of mine recommended a wonderful book called streams of Mercy, by Dr. Mark Rutland, president of Global Servants Ministries. He writes about a survey in which thousands of Americans were asked what they would most like someone say to them. Here are the top responses:
1. "I Love you"
2. "I forgive you"
3. "Supper's ready"
I love the observation Mark Rutland makes about these three unique responses"
"It dawned on me. The whole gospel. (Good News)Jesus stands behind the communion table with his nail-scarred hands outstretched and the light of his mercy in his eyes. His voice, His words meet us with healing warmth as we drag out water logged burdens up the rocky shoreline from life's most chilling seas. "I Love you" he whispers. "I forgive you. Come and dine."
It's really interesting how the words that some people are so desperate to hear is basically, at the core, at the very bottom of the foundations of Chrisitianity what Jesus has come to give us.
And this is a personal observation, my lecturer said that the one constant thing in the world is change. (oxymoron) Yea, we human like to change things, change this, that and everything else. Even i also like to see some changes happening, but then when i come to God, i thank Him that He never changes. He is the same yesterday, today and forevermore. And that is comforting because with change so much is happening, i get confused too, but God is my solid rock on which i can rely on.
